All Saints Parish consists of the two villages
of Turnditch and Windley.
Turnditch, which has a population of around 500 people, lies along the A517 road on the west side of the Ecclesbourne valley between Belper and Ashbourne. There are two pubs, the Tiger and the Cross Keys. The Turnditch C of E (Aided) Primary School stands opposite the Church in a charming building with its prominent little clock tower. (www.turnditch.derbyshire.sch.uk) During the last two decades there has been a number of new houses infilling the ollder dwellings. The Green Bank Chapel is situated further down the hill.
The Crompton Inglefied Village Hall is the home of numerous activities including the Play Group and W I.
Windley has a population of about 150 mostly dwelling in houses in Windley Lane which runs down between the A517 and the Duffield/Wirksworth road B5023. The area of the parish is actually quite large and extends through farm fields right down to the outskirts of Duffield. The large house, Flower Lilies, was the home of the Crompton Inglefield family, and most of the original houses of the time served the staff of the estate. Windley Hall is a fine Georgian House. The property includes a building which once was a brewery and then a co-operative cheese factory. It is now a holiday let. The Puss-in-Boots, on the Wirksworth Road, is the only pub situated in the parish. A few houses were built in the decades after the second world war and some barns have been converted to dwellings There is a small Baptist Chapel located in the lower leg of the Lane which has a service every Sunday. The Windley Village Preservation Group arranges community activities and seeks to guard against any insensitive development.
